14U-N Bombers Champs at Pastime!
The 14U National League Butler County Bombers won the Championship game of the Pastime Park Pre-Season Open Tournament Thursday night defeating SWOL National League Opponent Cincinnati Braves 13-4. The win improves the Bombers overall record to 8-0, they were undefeated in the tournament and are playing good, fundamental baseball. The Championship is the first in as many tries for the team. CONGRATULATIONS BOMBERS!
  11UN Cincinnati Town Champs
The 11U National Butler County Bombers claimed the tournament championship of the inaugural Cincinnati Baseball Town hosted by the American Baseball Association at Rumpke Park.

The Bombers cruised through pool play going 2-0 by defeating the Team Hustle 13-2 and the TYCO Slammers 12-1. But this was not enough to claim the #1 seed as the Carroll County Panthers only allowed 2 runs. Cam Combs and Adam McDonough both hit inside the park homeruns to lead the hitting.

The Bombers defeated the TYCO Slammers once again to advance to the championship game against the Panthers. The Bombers jumped out in front with 3 runs in the first inning and never looked back winning 10-2. Alex Wagner took the hill and only allowed 2 runs in 4 innings to earn the victory and also pick up the tournament MVP Award for his effort. Each player reached base at least one time during the game in the balanced attack. For the 4-game weekend the Bombers used 6 different pitchers with no pitcher throwing more than six innings.
10U Bombers Champs in South Dayton Braves Preseason Classic!
The 10U Bombers placed first this past weekend in the South Dayton Braves Preseason Classic in Carlisle. The Bombers went 4-0 through the tournament outscoring their opponents by a combined 45-12. The Bombers bats continue to be hot as their team batting average was .510 and they banged out 49 hits over the tournament. The Bombers were sharp in every aspect of their game. Dominating pitching, great fielding, great base running, & awesome hitting kept the Bomber’s opponents at bay all weekend. The Bombers used 8 different pitchers and no Bomber pitched more than one outing. The Bombers allowed 9 hits over the weekend & collected 28 strikeouts.
11UN Earn World Series Birth
The 11UN Bombers were itching to get back to action on Saturday with the winner of the Action Sports Round Robin receiving a paid birth to the World Baseball Association World Series in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Bombers bats came out smoking as Anthony Lang drilled the first pitch for a double and later scored with a double by Nick Frank. They added 2 more runs in the second inning to give the Bombers pitching all the runs they needed. Cam Combs cruised for the first 3 innings followed by Kirk Tabeling for the final 3 innings. Bombers pitching allowed one hit while striking out 9 for the 5-2 victory against the Tri County Cubs.

Game 2 saw the bats fully awaken as the Bombers defeated the Vandalia Vikings 13-3. Roman Rothwell and Adam McDonough reached base all three times and Christian Guffey added 2 hits in 2 plate appearances. The pitching of McDonough, Lang, and Alex Wagner held the opponents to 4 hits in the 5 inning affair.

The championship game moved along quickly until the Bombers added 4 runs in the second and third innings to jump out to a 9-2 lead. Josh Jarvis kept the inning alive in the second inning with a two-out, 2 rbi single. The offensive attack was totally balanced as every Bomber either scored or had a RBI. Jake Mitchell allowed 2 runs on 2 hits for the first 3 innings and Cam Combs came in to close the game with a scoreless inning. Jake Halsey reached base 6 times in 7 at-bats and OJ Davenport added 4 hits on the day.

The Bombers showed excellent pitching, defense, hitting, and base running all in one day.
10U Bombers Cincy USSSA Champs!!!
The 10U Bombers continued their winning ways over the weekend capturing the Cincy USSSA Spring Swing Championship. The Bombers breezed through the pool play and the semi-final round by a commanding combined 56-8 score. The Championship game found the Bombers facing the Flash Blue, a SWOL opponent. The Bombers fell behind 8-2 in the third inning as their bats were quieted by solid pitching & good defense. The Bombers went into the bottom of the fifth down 8-3 and the bats came to life as they scored 4 to cut the deficit to 2. Moving on to the bottom of the sixth the Bombers were down 10-7. The Bombers rallied to score 3 to tie & eventually won 11-10 in seven innings. Call these young men the Cardiac Kids as they never quit, winning their second extra inning game in less than 5 days by making great plays & clutch hits. For the tourney the Bombers banged out 39 singles, 7 doubles, 4 triples, & 4 homeruns batting .524 as a team with a .688 on base percentage. The wins push the Bombers record to 14-1 as they continue to learn the importance of solid fundamental baseball and team effort.

10U Bombers Runner Ups in May Day Classic!!!!
The 10U Bombers hosted the First Annual Bomber May Day Classic over the weekend. The Bombers battled in pool play finishing 2-1 losing a heartbreaker to the Cincy Flames 5-4 in the first game of the tourney. The Bombers than went on to win games over the Flash 11-0 & the Boro Buckeyes 11-6 to qualify for the championship round. The semi-final found the Bombers versus the Visitation Vikings from Cincinnati. The bats exploded and the Bombers won by mercy rule 12-4 after 5 innings. The championship game placed the Bombers against the Flames in another battle of two competitive teams from the SWOL National league. This time the Bombers came up short losing a 9-3 battle as one inning made the difference.

14U-N Bombers May Shootout Champs!
The 14U National League Bombers won 4 straight games over the weekend to win the Championship for the May Shootout Tournament at Eggleston Park. For the weekend, the Bombers offense exploded scoring 39 runs in 4 games while only allowing 11 runs.
14U-N Bombers Win in Michigan!
The 14U-N Butler County Bombers travelled north to participate in the 2009 USSSA Waco Wolves May Day Classic. With teams in the tournament from Michigan, Canada and Ohio, the Bombers won 5 straight to win the USSSA Tournament Championship! Congratulations Bombers!
10U Bombers Take Second at Bandit Yard!!
The 10U Bombers traveled to Greenfield, Indiana to participate in the Indiana Bandits 500 Extravaganza Tourney. Pitching & defense were the keys to the Bomber’s success through out the weekend. In five games the Bombers held their opponents to 14 runs while collecting 34 strikeouts and giving up 8 walks. The Bombers had key wins over the H.S.E. Mudcats 9-3, the Lime City Legacy 21-0, the Indiana Bandits 3-1, & the Skiles Test 6-4 to win a berth into the Championship game. In the Championship game the Bombers faced a rematch against the H.S.E. Mudcats. This time the Bomber’s rally came up short as they lost a close one 6-4. A Great Effort by the Bombers as they never quit and were in position to claim a victory when the Cats made an outstanding play to end the game on a double play.


10U Bombers Claim Bomber Blast Title!!!
This weekend’s action found the Bombers participating in the Bomber’s Blast at Smith Park. The Bomber’s pool was stacked with 3 talented teams, the Springboro Destroyers, the Mason Gators, & the Cincy Flames Black. The Bombers battled through pool play & finished with a 2-1 record to claim the two seed entering the championship round. The Bombers claimed a victory over the Destroyers in the semi-final round to face a rematch against the Flames, a team they had lost to in the opening round of the tournament on Friday night. This time the Bombers came ready to play and outstanding pitching, outstanding defense, & timely hitting propelled the Bombers to a 5-4 victory to claim the championship. The weekend pushed the Bomber’s record to 27-6 & for the fifth straight tournament the Bombers bring hardware home. This tournament the Bombers learned the importance of “Attitude & Effort”. GREAT JOB BOYS!!!! HOORAAA!!!!
14U-N Bombers Blast Runner Up!
The 14U Bombers participated in the 5th Annual Butler County Bombers blast and moved through the pool play portion of the tournament undefeated. In the Semi-Final game, the Bombers held back a tough Hamilton team to advance to the Final. Of the 16 teams entering the tournament, only 2 teams remained but the final saw the Bombers come up just short for second place. Congratulations Bombers!
8U Bombers 2009 Blast Champs!
The 8U Butler County Bombers played in the Bombers Blast Memorial Day Tournament which was stacked with numerous talented teams including the Cincy Dragons, Troy Terror, Boro Blackhawks, Middletown Baseball, and Franklin Cats. The Bombers went 4-0 in the tourney to claim the Championship!!!

14U-N Bombers Indiana-Ohio Challenge Champs
The 14U Bombers claimed yet another out-of state Championship over the weekend. This time in Indianapolis, IN, the Bombers bring home the right to call the Buckeye State the Champs this weekend! Great job Bombers!
10U Bombers Claim Summer Smash Championship!!!
The 10U Bombers traveled to Yankee Park over the 4th of July to participate in the Summer Smash hosted by the South Dayton Sting. The Bombers went 3-0 in pool play to earn a spot in the championship round. In the Semi-Final game the Bombers claimed a 7-2 victory over a talented Tipp City Flames squad. The finals pitted the Bombers against the South Dayton Sting. The Bombers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but the Sting battled back to go up 5-3. The Bombers immediately responded with timely hitting and a huge homerun by Drew Reckart to go up 9-5 in the bottom of the third. Great pitching and outstanding team defense then shut the Sting down and the Bombers cruised to a 9-5 victory for the Championship.

14U National Bombers Win Another Tournament!
The 14U-National Butler County Bombers participated in the Super Series July 4th Bash over the weekend at Action Sports Center in Dayton. The team rattled off 5 straight wins to capture the tournament championship defeating the Cincinnati Riverbats (4-0), the Fayette Co Buckeyes (27-8), the Eastside Irish (12-0), the Cincinnati Sharks (12-4) and the Dayton Dodgers (6-5). The tournament win pushed the Bombers overall record to 44-14 including 5 tournament championships. The Bombers play their last league game on Wednesday and then head to Rice Field in Miamisburg this weekend for another tournament. Keep up the good work and Great Job Bombers!
  10U Bombers MCYBSA Runner Ups !!
The 10U Bombers participated in the MCYBSA Select Classic in Miamisburg over the weekend. The Bombers cruised through pool play with decisive wins over the Springboro Destroyers 15-3 & the Fairborn Firehawks 16-8. In the single elimination round the Bombers rolled along with wins over the MuckDogs 15-2 & the Prosser Storm 9-6. This set the stage for the Championship game against a talented Springboro Destroyer team. This was the fourth match up with the Destroyers with the Bombers winning the three previous match ups. The Bombers jumped out early posting a 9-5 lead through 4 innings but then the Destroyers bats came alive and this time the Bombers fell short losing 15-9 claiming second place for the tourney
